Locomotives

Dylan S/O 4wPH

Dylan was first built in 1986 and is the railways workhorse.

This steam outline locomotive was built by Roger Greatrex and Bob Bullock, Roger building the chassis of the locomotive and Bob building the body. It was originally in a light blue livery.

The engine was repainted red by Bob Bullock in the 1990s and named 'Dylan'. It was overhauled in the 2006 winter season.

Dennis 4w-4PH

Dennis was built in 1981 by Arnold Bimpson. Originally it was an American GP40 style locomotive with yellow livery and named 'Hiawatha'. It arrived at the Weston Miniature Railway in May 1983.

In the winter of 1998, Hiawatha was rebuilt as the bodywork was falling apart. Bob Bullock built a new body which included an enclosed cab. The new loco was named 'Dennis'.

Dennis has recently changed power source and has been repainted orange with black stripes from a previous green livery.

As well as the above locomotives, we have a coin-in-slot tram, battery locomotive, built by Parkside in 2000.

Our coaching stock consists of four Cromar White sit-astride coaches, although only three are normally based at the railway.

For details on our previous locomotives, please see the History page.
