Petra was built new in 1989 by Graham White for a volunteer at the Moors Valley Railway.

When delivered the Moors Valley Railway built the tender for Petra.
Petra then operated on the Moors Valley Railway from the early 1990s until May 1996 when she was acquired by Bob Bullock for use on the Weston Miniature Railway.

Petra is usually on fine weekends during the main season.
